The entire concept of managing marketing on social media has felt like my personal White Whale these past weeks. I have half a dozen notebooks dedicated to the topic, each one bought with the thought “This will finally be what makes this easy!” And each time I was wrong. There are also many courses and manuals, and I have a stack of books sitting next to me right now, with a promise from each one to make me successful. Although I appreciate these resources as a guide, I finally decided I just needed a way to organize my thoughts that worked for me. So, I made my way to Canva, which is a resource I can’t speak highly enough of. I wanted to create a planner that could capture the important points for each of the sites I am posting to, as well as space to put down any floating ideas I have. I wanted to be able to ‘zoom out’ on a monthly plan, and be able to execute it with weekly posts. So that’s what I made. Like many other organizational projects I’ve pursued, this one could turn out to not be quite the right fit, but I’m of the mind that you should always try, see what works, and then go back to the drawing board. So, as I continue my search to capture this White Whale of social marketing as an author, I’ll be using this planner in my endeavors.
